Our Work
Threats to Our Natural Resources
Natural resources and the services they deliver support the well-being of the world’s population, but the sustainability and resilience of these resources and services continue to be jeopardized by a range of natural and anthropogenic threats.
In addition, unforeseen and novel threats can arise, especially as large-scale environmental conditions change.

Our Mission
Combating known and novel threats and sustaining economies and communities that depend on healthy environments requires improved understanding of the coupling between human and natural systems and innovative solutions to existing and emerging environmental challenges.
Producing the necessary understanding and solutions requires collaboration among multiple disciplines to collate existing data, apply innovative analyses that integrate concepts from distinct fields of research, synthesize the results of analyses into insights, provide guidance on application of those insights, and identify ways to generate essential new knowledge.
Helping stakeholders achieve these goals is the mission of the Center for Environmental Analysis, Synthesis & Application.
